The Shubert Theatre
$7,500
Summer Program for Social and Emotional Learning
Arts and Culture
DWCS collaborated closely with The Shubert Theatre to understand the unique goals of the summer program. We emphasized the program’s focus on social and emotional learning, showcasing its vital support for young participants through the arts. Our proposal highlighted the program’s transformative impact, including opportunities for students to develop essential life skills and build confidence, culminating in a public performance. By aligning these objectives with United Way’s mission, we developed a proposal that demonstrated the program’s deep community impact.
The successful grant application resulted in a $7,500 award from United Way, enabling The Shubert Theatre to expand and enrich its summer program. With the increased funding, the theater offered a wider range of classes, reaching more participants and providing them with a meaningful and creative outlet during the summer months. The program concluded with a play performed by the students, showcasing their growth and achievements, and highlighting the powerful role of the arts in social and emotional development.
